Ahh more tough decisions for Dwight Howard. You thought he had it rough last year, this could be even worse. Clearly Dwight is unhappy in LA, but the good news for him is that he doesn't have to re-sign with the Lakers. Now if I know Dwight, (and I know Dwight) he won't just come out and say he doesn't want to play for LA. No, no. He'll let it linger until the end of the season, while dropping hints throughout that this is not where he wants to be, and eventually he leaves your city/franchise a hot rotten mess. But I digress...
In all seriousness, Dwight has some..well..serious decisions to make. Most of all, where would he like to play? He holds the cards in LA to an extent, because much like when he was in Orlando its not like if LA wanted to trade him that they could just send him anywhere. No team is going to trade for Dwight without a commitment and Dwight will likely only commit to Dallas or Brooklyn. So, if LA doesn't want to trade with those teams, or can't, then Dwight and the Lakers are, for lack of a better acronym..SOL.
So, Dwight realistically has 3 options right now:
1. He can try to make it work in LA for the long term and suck it up this season.
2. He demands a trade to either Dallas or Brooklyn.
3. Or this one, the most likely of scenarios...Dwight doesn't say a word about it until the end of the season when he officially becomes a free agent.
Of course he could always beg Orlando to take him back...just throwin' it out there.
