LISTEN LIVE

Every man has that one, that one perfect girl that made you so happy. This girl made life so easy to live, she got along with your friends, and made you a better person. Then, somehow, she got away.

Sometimes you don't know what you have until it's gone.

Same is the case with the Florida Gators...

Steve Spurrier was hired by the Gators in 1989 and turned around a program that was never taken serious in the SEC, also a program that was under NCAA investigation. Spurrier took home an SEC title in '91 and then again four out of the next 5 years. Steve's Gators defeated rival Florida State in the '96 National Title game and don't forget he was the man credited for naming the "Swamp" (along with Mike Bianchi). Spurrier's "fun 'n gun" offense was the apple of every Gator fans' eye, but in 2002, the wonderful marriage came to an end. Spurrier resigned after 12 years with the SEC monster he created.

Flash forward to present, the Gators have moved on, won multiple titles under Urban Meyer and are currently having a season under Will Muschamp that has them #2 in the BCS standings.

The Gamecocks, better yet, former "lover" Steve Spurrier's Gamecocks are headed in to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium this Saturday to take on the Gators...and so the question must be asked: Would Gator fans dump Will Muschamp for "the one that got away" (Steve Spurrier)?
