The Americans lost the first set of their preliminary round match against Austria on Wednesday night - the first time they've lost a set in three Olympics. But after the 21-17 loss in the first, they came back to win the second by a dominating 21-8 and took the third 15-10 to remain unbeaten in this and every other trip to the Olympic Games."

Gymnastics: "The U.S. women's gymnastics team's Olympic gold medal-winning triumph Tuesday night didn't come down to a perfect landing on a tumbling pass. It didn't require the last-minute performances of a lifetime by a handful of nervous but determined teenagers. It didn't force the American coaches to pace in a corner or competitors to tensely chew on their fingernails. No, the USA made it look easy in winning its first team Olympic gold medal in 16 years, and only its second ever." Courtesy of USAToday.com

Basketball: "Really, Tunisia didn’t have a shot. The only way they could have won today was if Team USA’s bus got lost on the way to the arena and they missed the game entirely. Well, the bus made it there just fine and the U.S. put a hurting on Tunisia, winning 110-63." http://www.sikids.com/blogs/2012/07/31/usa-mens-basketball-5-takeaways-from-the-win-over-tunisia
