Yankees Take Series From Rays

The New York Yankees (15-7) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (12-11) 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium. The Rays dropped two of three to the Bronx Bombers in the three-game set.

The Yankees got to Rays pitcher Aaron Civale (2-2, 3.90) in the fifth inning, scoring four runs to chase him from the game. He finished the game with five earned runs allowed on eight hits while striking out five and walking five.

The Rays tried to mount a comeback in the eighth inning, when Amed Rosario drove in two and Curtis Mead drove in a run, but the Yankees were able to escape with a 5-4 win.

The Rays now return home for a three game series against the Tigers beginning on Monday night. First pitch Monday is scheduled for 6:50 PM - pregame coverage begins with the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620 your Home of Rays Baseball.
