Rays Take Series From Giants

The Tampa Bay Rays (9-7) beat the San Francisco Giants (6-10) 9-4 on Sunday afternoon at Tropicana Field. The Rays have now won their last three series against the Rockies, Angels and now Giants.

After the Giants took a lead in the top of the first, Randy Arozarena answered with a RBI single in the bottom of the first to tie the game 1-1. Amed Rosario then hit a two-run homer that was upheld on review and the Rays never looked back.

Rene Pinto hit two home runs in this game, and Isaac Paredes hit a homer as well. Shawn Armstrong got the start and allowed one earned run in two innings of work, before Tyler Alexander (1-0, 6.46) worked six innings of two-run ball to get the win.

In a pregame ceremony, the Rays honored longtime radio announcer Dave Wills by inducting him into the Rays Hall of Fame. Wills spent 18 years with the team before he passed away in March 2023 at the age of 58.

The Rays remain at Tropicana Field for a four-game series against the Angels beginning on Monday night. Zach Eflin (1-2, 6.35) will get the start and face Patrick Sandoval (1-2, 6.57) for the Angels. First pitch is scheduled for 6:50 PM - Ronnie Lane begins pregame coverage with the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
