Does a Dolphins Win Eliminate the Narratives?

The Miami Dolphins (6-2) and Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) travel to Germany or a clash of the top dogs in the AFC standings. There are so many angles that make this game so intriguing.

1) Tyreek Hill Revenge Game - This will be the first time Miami WR Tyreek Hill will play the Chiefs since he joined the Dolphins in 2022. Eight receptions for 100-yards and a touchdown has become the standard for Hill. In an effort to make a statement, don't be surprised if the man chasing 2,000 yards notches 10+ receptions, 150+ receiving yards, and 2+ touchdowns.

2) Travel Schedule to Germany - We have paid close attention to the Jacksonville Jaguars success in London this season, and asking the question if traveling to international games has an impact on the game. Jags QB Trevor Lawrence said it was a huge advantage to have a full week in London prior to their matchup with the Buffalo Bills - where the Jags won 25-20. The Dolphins arrived to Germany on Tuesday to adjust, whereas reports indicate the Chiefs plan to arrive on Friday. Curious to see if this makes an impact.

3) Can the Dolphins Overcome a Narrative? - Both of the Dolphins losses have come on the road to great competition, losing 48-20 to the Buffalo Bills, and 31-17 in Philadelphia to the Eagles. This will act as a neutral site game against the defending AFC Champs. Does a win prove that the Dolphins can win tough games outside of Miami?

Brandon and I discuss all of these things in the podcast below, along with betting leans for tonight's Thursday Night Football matchup against the Titans and Steelers. Here are some things to consider when betting the game (Steelers favored by 3).

  • Will Levis is making his second career start after a monster debut: 238 passing yards, four touchdowns, zero INT.
  • Tennessee is 29-19-1 as underdogs against the spread under head coach Mike Vrabel
  • Steelers QB Kenny Pickett is 6-0 against the spread in prime time.
  • Derrick Henry averages 42 rushing yards per game on the road.

Brandon and I dove into these stats further earlier today on In The Zone. Give it a listen before making you wagers for this weekend.
