Should The Magic Go After Austin Reaves In Restricted Free Agency?

Austin Reaves has built up his value at the perfect time here in the NBA Playoffs, right in time for him to get lucrative offers in restricted free agency and the Magic are a team with money to spend.

There are plenty of worse ways to waste money than to sign Austin Reaves, who is playing his best basketball at the most important time and even more importantly, the skill set he possesses is kind of what the Magic could use on their roster. "Shooting and high IQ players" are on the shopping list according to GM John Hammond, who spoke to us last week on In The Zone, and Austin Reaves fits those qualities. I've talked about drafting guys like Jordan Hawkins or Gradey Dick..maybe find a way to trade for a hidden gem of a shooter who can run off screens like Corey Kispert..but I believe the Magic should pursue Austin Reaves, who would only cost money.

Kravitz and I discuss why Austin Reaves would make for a good "Magician" in the podcast clip below.
