The Carolina Panthers dealt the face of their franchise, RB Christian McCaffrey, to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2023 2nd round, 3rd round, and 4th round pick, plus a 5th rounder in 2024. While it was a major haul for Carolina (who needs to reformulate everything they're doing), the 9ers bring CMC back to the bay area where he played his college ball at Stanford. Kyle Shanahan can work wonders with the running back position and now he has the cream of the crop with Christian McCaffrey. This move should put San Fran in the driver's seat or somewhere near it when it comes to the true contenders of the NFC.
