CFB Writer Places Cam Over Tebow On His All-SEC All-Time Offense

We all love a good list and especially when that list takes us into the past and highlights our beloved college football. Fox Sports CFB writer made his all-time SEC offense and the players who made the cut might surprise you.

Cam Newton is his QB. Hard to argue but it feels like Tim Tebow should be on any all-time SEC list or maybe even the Gator QB who preceded him in Danny Wuerffel.

Both Tebow and Cam won Heisman trophies and Tebow was better longer...that's partly the reason I'd have Tebow as my QB on this type of All-Time offense. Tebow was actually a more prolific passer in his best season than Cam was in his 1 great year (2010) at Auburn. Tebow threw for over 3200 yards, 32 TD's, and just 6 picks. Cam racked up 2800 yards, 30 TD's and 7 INT's. Cam has Tim beat in rush yards by about 500 but Tebow STILL scored more TD's (23). And again, that's just putting their best single season against one-another. Not the entirety of their SEC tenure, in which case, its not even close. Tebow threw for over 7k more yards in college than Cam did.

Hell, if we're going with single season greatness in the SEC, doesn't Joe Burrow have them both beat?!

Tebow is the pick.

Here's the ALL-TIME SEC OFFENSE RJ Young posted in its entirety.

Other notable omissions:

  • Emmitt Smith
  • Percy Harvin
  • Any single tight end (Kyle Pitts gets my vote)
  • AJ Green
  • Derrick Henry
  • Joe Namath
