Would the NBA Season Distract us from Committing to Social Change?

The return of the NBA is a sticky situation at best. The logistics of bringing 22 NBA teams to Orlando while parks are reopening and keeping everybody happy and healthy is a big undertaking to start, but now there is a new focus. Some players do not want to sit back and let the world forget about the Black Lives Matter movement.

Kyrie Irving has been the vocal leader for the NBA players about holding off on the season until real social change happens. He doesn't want the media focus to go from the movement over to who did what in last night's game. Being a distraction would be a detriment to the movement and to the change that many people want to see in this country. Dwight Howard went as far as telling CNN that he would forego the NBA championship to see real change.

Obviously, there has been some push back among fans of the NBA and some players as well. The NBA has a tough road ahead, but what do you think they should do? Tell us in the Twitter poll below!
